The Great Gorgava was a cannibalistic creature living on the Dark Planet, close to the planet Malia, who when angry, somehow created violent weather on Malia. The King of Malia routinely sent a hero to kill Gorgava, but really as a sacrifice so the creature wouldn't get angry. In 2377, Lieutenant Matt was sent in place of the next sacrifice and fought Gorgava until he killed the creature. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Food for the Labyrinth")
