First, the Maenad forces him be Brainwashed and Crazy, to the point that he, among other things, wreaks disaster on the world, attempts to have his friend Edward assassinated, and personally raises arms against his best friend, wife, and child. After this, her control over him is broken, and he realizes precisely what it is he has done. He goes completely catatonic as a result. Fortunately, he can be snapped out of that, too. * Terra has one of these in Final Fantasy VI when she realises that she's half-Esper.
