The SA160 features a full mahogany body with an HSS pickup configuration and a synchronized tremolo. Production of the model halted in 2005, but the SA160 returned in 2008, only to be discontinued again within the year. Other similar models are the SA160QM with a quilted maple top (2002–2004), the SA160AH with a full ash body (2004–2005) and the SA160FM with a flamed maple top (2012–2013). The SA160 is also available in two left-handed versions: the SA160QML with quilted maple top and the SA160FML with flamed maple top.
