Ratling thief is a type of monster in ADOM. Along with the warriors and archers, they are the most common and basic ratlings. They will often attempt to steal the PC's gold whilst in melee range. All gold stolen by a monster is carried by that monster and can be reclaimed by killing it, except (as of 1.2.0) when it disappears, as indicated by the message "The (monster) chuckles with hateful glee as the god of thieves immediately takes his share!" As criminals, ratling thieves and master thieves are chaotic (although ratlings are usually neutral).
