Combat Officer is a military rank used by the New Republic Army. Along with Second Combat Officers, Combat Officers are Marines being groomed for tactical leadership positions. Typically already battle-hardened and experienced, most Combat Officers have had successful careers as Marines prior to their commissioning and now serve as fire-team leaders.
