The Waiter looked after Deirdre Barlow and Dave Barton when they ate at a restaurant in 1990. When Deirdre went to the ladies and went AWOL for fifteen minutes, the waiter offered to ask one of the waitresses to check if she was alright, but Dave told him that there was no need as he had just spotted her. As they had finished the meal, Dave settled the bill and then went to ask Deirdre why she'd taken so long.
