The Land Battleship was used on Kadian long before the CIS invasion as a multi-terrain mobile command base. While the older ones sported heavy fire power in their own right, this newer Fortress class is by far the most powerful ever built. They were developed for planetary defense, their turrets capable of attacking ships in low orbit or entering the atmosphere. While the siege cannons are the primary weapon, the Fortress class has a number of defensive weapons should the enemy get too close, and also has long range rockets to take out enemy formation half a continent away.
