A bitmap (or "map of bits", also known as raster graphics image) is a dot matrix data structure, representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels.Raster images are stored in image files with varying formats. In Re-Volt, the file extension used for textures is the BMP, which most image editors can create and modify, including Microsoft Paint.
