Catoblepas is a Soul of Rebirth enemy in Final Fantasy II. They are not highly dangerous enemies if the player has leveled up sufficiently and/or has the Ribbon equipped. They are somewhat valuable, as they drop powerful equipment, most noticeably the Diamond Shield and the Sun Blade.
