The Blue Coalition was formed in the last few years of the 33rd century. It was made to unite the opposition against the ruling Royalists who had seized power when the will of the Karavs wasn't met. The dispute was started over the Finance Minister, Valentine Taylor, who was deemed "incompetent" by the High Count, who demanded that she be replaced by someone appointed by any other family except the Stantons. Outraged, the Stantons and their allies tried to counter a Royalist coup d'etat, but it failed. The coup, however, reduced the Royalist reputation in the upcoming polls, giving the Blue Coalition a slight edge.
