John Fenton Murray (February 19, 1917 - July 24, 1996) co-wrote with Benedict Freedman two episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. He also wrote episodes of the TV series "The Mickey Rooney Show", "The Red Skelton Hour", "The Ann Sothern Show", "McHale's Navy", "Gilligan's Island", "The Brady Bunch", "The Bugaloos", "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters", "Good Times", "Chico and the Man" and "Operation Petticoat". He co-wrote the screenplays for the films The Man from the Diner's Club, Man's Favorite Sport?, McHale's Navy Joins the Air Force and Pufnstuf.
