Eglon was a Canaanite and Amorite city-state ruled by Debir. As an Amorite city, Eglon was part of a five-city coalition (including Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish and Eglon) force that attacked Gibeon after it made a peace treaty with Israel. Eglon was conquered by Israel under the leadership of Joshua.
