In 2267, the USS Constitution was listed as one of several vessels undergoing repair. Commodore Stone referred to this data when the USS Enterprise arrived at Starbase 11 following an encounter with an ion storm. In 2271, it was refitted to extend its lifespan. The USS Constitution was assigned to study the Regula star system and discovered the Mutara Nebula. Later that year, civilian scientists began the Genesis Project there on the station Regula One. In 2287, the Constitution was present at Spacedock when the Whale Probe came to Earth.
