It is unclear as to whether Roger is being truthful about the stolen money, or if he fabricated this in an attempt to obtain compensation. It is revealed during the trial that Roger has been involved with the Edgeville guards before. If the arresting officer is called as a witness, he claims that Roger is not the most trustworthy person he has met and was often reluctant to give information to the law.
