The Ceremony of Fire is a ceremony ordered by the ruling Goa'uld Moloc. It is a ceremony in which all Jaffa girls that are born on one of Moloc's planets are sentenced to death by being burned alive. He ordered the deaths, as only the male Jaffa would be able to lead his armies into war, so he saw no use of the females. The Jaffa priestess Ishta, who presided over this ceremony, formed the Hak'tyl Resistance and secretly smuggled the children to Hak'tyl, where they received training as warriors. (SG1: "Birthright")
