After years of in-fighting, Mandalore the Foolish was killed in 1,018 ABY. A new Mandalore rose to replace him, but that reign was also short-lived. New Mandalores rose and fell every few months, as the infighting broke into open war. Eventually, no new Mandalore rose to power, with the clans completely breaking apart. The war continued until 1,020 ABY without reunification, and Mandalore the Foolish was given his name for failing to keep the peace between the clans.
