Lutie Bascomb is a minor character on The Waltons. He is played by Richard Bradford. His only appearance is in the episode The Fire. He is a single parent, father of Lois May Bascomb. He is mean spirited and drunk most of the time, and is a very religious man. He becomes frustrated with Mrs. Forwick's teaching of evolution vs. creation and he berates her after school one day. That same night, a drunken Lutie burns down the schoolhouse, but accidently gets knocked unconscious and is engulfed by the fire.
