[Source] The Garen system was a star system which contained the planet Garen IV, and was located within the Thuldin's Grant sector of the Expansion Region. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Garen IV housed an Imperial penal colony, although in the year 2 BBY, during the Galactic Civil War, a number of prisoners escaped the colony during a raid by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
