The Advanced Starship Design Bureau was a branch of the Federation that, in conjunction with Starfleet, oversaw the creation of new starships. The ASDB administered several shipyards throughout the Federation, including Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards. The Bureau was frequently credited on starship dedication plaques.
