Steve Felton was a police officer who murdered fellow officer Danny Pelham when he could not bear how abusive Pelham was to Marissa Hastings, Felton's partner. Felton subsequently pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree in Pelham's death and sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
