In the manga, the girls become involved after they were each persuaded to participate in the upcoming race with the promise of free food. When the race starts, delivery girls from different restaurants move to the chosen house while attacking one another. In the event of a tie, the first girl to get the customer to eat wins the race. The race ended in a three way tie between Shampoo, Ranma, and Akane with Kuno Estate being chosen as the finish line.
