He, his wife Amber and daughter Mailee Blaize (6/2/06) reside in Pasco, WA during the off-season...Was 2-0 with a 3.07 ERA in two games for Team USA at the 2000 World Junior Championships...As a junior at Pasco High School in 2001, he went 3-1 with a 3.60 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 35.0 innings...Became the first player to ever be selected after his junior year of high school when he was selected in the first round of the June 2001 draft by Oakland.
