A Zanpakuto is the weapon of choice for a Shinigami. It enables them to lead souls to Soul Society and combat Hollows and threats to Soul Society and has three levels of power:It's sealed sword state, an initial release where the sword's special ability is revealed, and a Bankai which extends and augments the Shikai's abilities 5-10 times.
