Lieutenant Randi Bryce was a biologist aboard the survey ship USS Ariel. In 2269, Bryce, along with the rest of the Ariel crew, was captured by the Lactrans while conducting a planetary survey. Bryce, Tom Markel, and Nancy Randolph were freed six weeks later by the crew of USS Enterprise. (TAS: "The Eye of the Beholder") The voice of Bryce was provided by Majel Barrett. Her name was spelled "Randy" in the novelization. In an early version of the script, Randi was McCoy's daughter.
