A chief was the leader of a tribal society. The Capellan title of "High Teer" was comparable in use to the title of "High Chief". (TOS: "Friday's Child" ) Some races that evolved similarly to, or had an influence upon, Humans, had their own tribal chiefs. These included the Native Americans on Amerind, the Yangs and Kohms of Omega IV and the Rubber Tree People.
