Laurence Kerr Olivier, OM was an English actor, director, and producer. Olivier is generally considered to have been one of the greatest stage actors of the 20th century.[citation needed] He was the first actor to be made a Life Peer as "Baron Olivier of Brighton in the County of Sussex" on 13 June, 1970. He played Professor Moriarty in the 1976 film, The Seven Per-Cent Solution.
