Although he could speak, he rarely chose to do so. Some said that he sometimes visited mortal mares at night and left them with foal. Nahar's neigh was like the sound of a mighty trumpet ,like his master Oromë ' s great Horn, and like the sound of that Horn,his voice inspired terror in all Evil beings and courage in those who were Good.
