The so-called Committee for Military Sanity was an informal group of politicians in the Star Kingdom of Manticore of the early 16th Century PD. Led by Chancellor of the Exchequer Lord Breakwater, they lobbied for meassures to dissolve the Royal Manticoran Navy and make the Manticoran Patrol and Rescue Service -- under the control of the Treasury -- the sole security and rescue force for the Manticore System.
