The RG Premium models are all new for 2011 and are Indonesian-made higher-grade models. The RG920QMZ has a basswood body with quilted maple top, DiMarzio IBZ pickups, a Wizard Premium neck and an Edge Zero II tremolo. A similar model with Ibanez-made pickups and KTS Titanium Reinforcement is issued as the RG870QMZ. Another RG Premium model without the quilted maple top is issued as the RG870Z. A similar model without the quilted maple top, the RG920 was introduced in 2012. A version with a maple fretboard, the RG920MQM, was also produced.
