The early years of Garik Rane's life are a blur of spaceflight, punctuated by the occasional port call - but his earliest memories are of Ryloth. It was this world where his parents became slaves and so, following in his old mans footsteps, where Garik too ended up as a worker in the spice mines. From an early age he was put to work mining ryll and whilst others around him lost their jobs and heads over the spice, Garik was somehow immune to its charms.
