Officer Carruthers is a policeman who lives next door to Nanny on Muppet Babies. In the first season episode "Noisy Neighbors", the babies have to be quiet because Officer Caruthers is trying to sleep, after working a night shift. In "Fine Feathered Enemies," he appears on camera for the first time, when he comes over to adopt Polly the parrot. He also has a pet mouse that the Babies watch over in "Of Mice and Muppets" and a kitten that the Babies watch over in "Puss 'n Boots 'n Babies".
