The man was hired by Carl Denham to an expedition to Singapore (never telling him and the other crew that he was eventually going to Skull Island). He was along the crew in the native village when Carl Denham decided to captured kong. He and 4 crewman threw their rope on kong and were trying to pull him down. After dropping a net on Kong, he and the sailors successfully managed to pull kong down. However Kong broke free and threw some of the sailors while the rest of the crew flee to the lifeboats, his fate is unknown.
