Halawa is the strong leader of the Barako Tribe in Savage Empire. When the Avatar met Halawa, she was devastated by the kidnapping of her daughter Halisa by a giant silverback gorilla. She told the Avatar how none of her warriors had been able to scale the sheer cliffs to reach the gorilla, and she was sure after awhile the gorilla would throw her daughter from the cliffs. Halawa agreed to unite the tribes if the Avatar could bring her daughter home, and after Halisa's rescue, Halawa agreed to unite against the Myrmidex menace.
