  • KCET is a television station located in Los Angeles, California. It was a charter member of PBS and as the flagship PBS member station for southern California, created several programs for PBS. Two of the series the station created that have been shown on PBS Kids are The Charlie Horse Music Pizza and Sid the Science Kid. Due to rising costs and programming disputes, amongst which was a requirement by PBS that the station pay more than double for its programming than neighbor PBS station KOCE, KCET ended its affiliation with PBS on December 31, 2010. It has since become an independent non-commercial educational station. However, it is still a member of American Public Televisions APT Exchange for syndicated programming.
