Juan Zanelli was a Chilean pre-war Grand Prix driver, the only Chilean to have taken in a Grand Prix until Eliseo Salazar's debut. Among his feats was a third place finish in the 1930 French Grand Prix. During World War II, he was a member of the French Resistance. He killed during a battle between members of the Resistance and German soldiers in Toulouse, just after D-Day.
