Dr Miller was on duty at Weatherfield General when Carmel Finnan had been admitted with a broken leg in March 1993. During an argument with Gail Platt over her husband Martin, Gail had pushed Carmel away from her which resulted in her falling down a flight of stairs. Gail initially feared for the safety of Carmel's unborn baby, but Dr Miller told a shocked Gail and Martin that after conducting a thorough examination, Carmel wasn't pregnant - and never had been.
