He also ran his crew with a very iron fist and was also fiercely protective of Samantha King aka "Jade", causing Caitlin Todd to remark that Hitch wouldn't let her go because he'd probably kill her first. He eventually found out that Kate and Anthony DiNozzo were actually Navy cops and Federal agents and as such, attempted to kill Samantha for presumably lying to her. One of his bouncers, Richard "Blue" McGinty was forced to shoot Hitch, claiming that Hitch had been about to kill Samantha and he didn't have a choice.
