A water pit is an area that contains shallow water, but periodically fills up with deep water. After a few seconds with deep water, the water level will recede. When the water is deep, Crash will drown if he enters it. If beetles appear in a water pit, they will fly over it when the water is deep, and then return to crawling on the ground when the water is shallow again. Water pits are found in the Tomb Wader level of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, as well as the Slip-N-Slidin' Sphinx and King Too Uncommon levels of Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced. If Crash touches a pit while in water, he lays on his back just like when his jet board explodes from a mine in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back.
