After his NHL career ended, he moved to Switzerland, where he played in the Nationalliga A from 1994 to 2005, when he retired. In 1984-85 with the Prince Albert Raiders, Hodgson won the Memorial Cup, CHL Player of the Year, Memorial Cup tournament most valuable player, and WHL all-star.
