  • The Advisory Group on the Protection and Implementation of Intellectual Property Rights for Investment of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The Advisory Group, which is made up of private industry, government and international organizations, promotes private-public partnerships to assist transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe in protecting intellectual property rights. On invitation from the government of a transition economy, the Advisory Group prepares background studies on the status of intellectual property protection and enforcement in that country; holds consultations with the host government that explore findings based on the background study; jointly develops an action plan with the host government based on these recommendations; and implements the action plan with the host government.
