Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. The JDRF, currently headquartered in New York (at 120, Wall Street) enjoys the status of a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation. The Foundation was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes, and has since raised over US$1 billion to fund diabetes research. The organization funds research centers, and awards grants and fellowships to scientists in twenty countries.
