Pope Francis (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1936) was elected the 266th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church on March 13, 2013. He took the name Francis to honor Saint Francis of Assisi. There is concern that reasons for skepticism over Pope Francis are being overlooked. Pope Francis is the first Pope from the Americas. He is also the first Jesuit Pope in the history of Catholic Church.
