It is not designed for fighting a MBT and winning. It is primarily in use by American MESS forces. It has three different armor levels. Level I is built in, and provides for protection against small arms. Level II armor provides additional protection against light cannon, but requires airlanding, instead of parachute drops. Level III provides protection against light anti-tank munitions, but requires the use of a C-17 or larger for landing. It is armed with a 105mm cannon, loaded by autoloader. It can carry up to 21 rounds in the autoloader, along with another 9 in stowage. Hybrid electric drive provides for improved fuel consumption, and decreased audio signature.
