"No one is claiming that Jasa Seamel is anything but a paragon of political accomplishment," Viscount Junus Seamel stated in a written notation, "Yet given House Seamel's already delicate claim to political influence - that of an upstart House clinging to the power that our beloved Freia granted us, Light grant her peace - we cannot afford to sit back and let her gift go to waste." Though a registered Marked Mage, Duke Seamel's short tenure as an Imperial Horseman and acting Surrector, combined with his mostly clean track record, is reason enough for many within the Seamel House that his sincerity and devotion to the Light is proof that the Shadow has little - if any - influence over his actions. The decision to appoint Duhnen Seamel as Duke of House Seamel has a curious side-effect, however, that may be less welcome among Noble Circles is that such a calling also advances his wife, the Lady Gabriella Lomasa, to the position of Duchess Seamel.
