About: Expansion Character   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

Having the tag Expansion Character means that the character has been created with the advantages of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. With the character creation you have the choice to create an Expansion Character or a normal character. All Druids and all Assassins are Expansion Characters. If you create a normal character, Lord of Destruction will behave as if the Expansion is not installed. A normal character can be converted into an Expansion character at any time, but an Expansion character cannot be converted back to normal.

  • An expansion character, also known simply as an expansion, is the concept for a playable character in Super Smash Flash 2 that is not normally accessible in the default game. Instead, these characters are developed separately from the main game, and can be downloaded into the game once finished. With this concept, characters that didn't get into the official roster may be added by other developers even after the game finishes development.

With this concept, characters that didn't get into the official roster may be added by other developers even after the game finishes development. Currently, the game does not support expansion characters, as the concept was initially dropped after the game's first major revamp following the 2011 demo, v0.7. However, it has been confirmed that expansion characters will likely become a thing following the release of version 1.0. There is also evidence of "XP" characters contained within the games' files, as an expansion slot can be hacked into the game (though non-functional).
