Cokely was sent to prison, but Thibedeaux was left permanently disfigured and gave birth to an illegitimate son who became the father of Detective B.J. Morrow. FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully met Thibedeaux in 1995 while the agents were investigating a series of murders that matched, almost identically, to Cokely's spree, fifty years earlier.
