abstract
  • So as to avoid circularity and other illogicalities, a category should include practically every aspect of every subcategory within it. Where that seems unworkable, a redefinition of categories may be desirable and should be discussed on the "Talk" pages of the categories concerned. Articles, however, may be in a category that does not encompass them entirely; but ideally the portion of the article that fits that category (eg Education in Xville) should be made into a separate article for easier finding (with not much more than a cross-reference from the original article). A quick way of arranging part of that is to use the , eg: Main article: Xville:Education. Material copied from Wikipedia should retain the categories it had there. They are the product of fairly exhaustive discussion by hundreds of users, so they can be expected to hang together well. Careful examination may lead us to the conclusion that one or more is not at all useful here. Leave them in unless you are sure.
