Albert Bassett Hopkins (c. 1848 - 9 July 1914) was a barrister. Born in the Marylebone, he was the son of Irish-born parents: Daniel and Catherine Hopkins of Aston near Birmingham. His father was a tailor, later working at a bone works. Albert worked as a private mathematics tutor while studying law. He studied at the University of London graduating BA in 1871 and MA in 1874. He entered the Inner Temple in 1875 and was called to the bar in 1883. A member of the Worshipful Company of Barbers, he was admitted to the freedom of the City of London in 1883.
