Outback Charlie, was the Australian proprietor of a trading post in a small village in Cameroon. When asked by Indy about the availability of bearers he told him that "A Dutch expedition...hired every able-bodied bearer." A burly barrel of a man, he had lived in the African jungle for more years than he cared to remember, hiding from some dark deed in his past.
