  • So what's all this Owner: House * thing about then? Well, it's pretty simple! It defines House Territory (namely that they hold influence over, not that they own) and the LOCAL LAWS in effect in that territory. Local Laws define much of how a House operates, and will eventually be documented under +library Local Laws. In a nutshell, it dictates: * If that House permits female Knights. * If that House permits female Guards. * If that House permits Freelander Knights. * If that House permits Battlemages. * If that House permits Marked Mage activity. * Current relations with other Houses. * Who, if anyone, is outlawed. For clarification, a Battlemage is a Marked Mage who has become a Knight. They are expected to opt for staves and polearms over swords and maces, and to use their powers for the benefit of the House and the Empire. The Marked Mage activity part relates to whether or not a House will permit Marked Mages from using their powers within their territory. The layout will be something like this: HOUSE KAHAR Female Guards: Yes Female Knights: Yes Battlemages: No Freelander Knights: No Mage Activity: Yes Outlaws: None Alliances: House Mikin Cordial: House Zahir Neutral: House Lomasa, House Nillu, House Seamel Hostile: None Again, this is something House Leaders will need to submit. These are the ONLY variations to the Imperial Law that Houses are permitted, and may vary from Imperial policy as such. I'll need them via +Staffrequest. Don't worry about the formatting. Now I will at this point note that the Local Laws are only for guideline use and really just a bit of fun and extended meaning to being in a House. It's a reference, at the end of the day, but I WILL dictate some character policy, and it WILL be enforced through RP. So if a House claims that it doesn't accept female Knights, then I don't expect to see female Knights. Natch! Much of that which is written in those local laws will be what the Imperial Forum(s) or Court will be used for to resolve! And change. I dare say that the quote at the end of thise post sums up my feelings on this policy perfectly! :>
